On analysis-based two-step interpolation methods for randomly sampled seismic data

چکیده
Interpolating the missing traces of regularly or irregularly sampled seismic record is an exceedingly important issue in the geophysical community. Many modern acquisition and reconstruction methods are designed to exploit the transform domain sparsity of the few randomly recorded but informative seismic data using thresholding techniques. In this paper, to regularize randomly sampled seismic data, we introduce two accelerated, analysis-based two-step interpolation algorithms, the analysis-based FISTA (fast iterative shrinkage-thresholding algorithm) and the FPOCS (fast projection onto convex sets) algorithm from the IST (iterative shrinkage-thresholding) algorithm and the POCS (projection onto convex sets) algorithm. A MATLAB package is developed for the implementation of these thresholdingrelated interpolation methods. Based on this package, we compare the reconstruction performance of these algorithms, using synthetic and real seismic data. Combined with several thresholding strategies, the accelerated convergence of the proposed methods is also highlighted. & 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

ourier reconstruction of nonuniformly sampled , aliased seismic data
There are numerous methods for interpolating uniformly sampled, aliased seismic data, but few can handle the combination of nonuniform sampling and aliasing. We combine the principles of Fourier reconstruction of nonaliased, nonuniformly sampled data with the ideas of frequency-wavenumber f-k interpolation of aliased, uniformly sampled data in a new two-step algorithm. In the first step, we est...
متن کاملAttenuation of spatial aliasing in CMP domain by non-linear interpolation of seismic data along local slopes
Spatial aliasing is an unwanted side effect that produces artifacts during seismic data processing, imaging and interpolation. It is often caused by insufficient spatial sampling of seismic data and often happens in CMP (Common Mid-Point) gather. To tackle this artifact, several techniques have been developed in time-space domain as well as frequency domain such as frequency-wavenumber, frequen...
متن کاملBeyond alias hierarchical scale curvelet interpolation of regularly and irregularly sampled seismic data
We propose a robust interpolation scheme for aliased regularly sampled seismic data that uses the curvelet transform. In a first pass, the curvelet transform is used to compute the curvelet coefficients of the aliased seismic data. The aforementioned coefficients are divided into two groups of scales: alias-free and alias-contaminated scales. The alias-free curvelet coefficients are upscaled to...
متن کاملOptimizing design of 3D seismic acquisition by CRS trace interpolation
Land seismic data acquisition in most of cases suffers from obstacles in fields which deviates geometry of the real acquired data from what was designed. These obstacles will cause gaps, narrow azimuth and offset limitation in the data. These shortcomings, not only prevents regular trace distribution in bins, but also distorts the subsurface image by reducing illumination of the target formatio...
متن کاملFast Generalized Fourier Interpolation of Nonstationary Seismic Records
SUMMARY We propose a fast and efficient method for the interpolation of nonstationary seismic data. The method uses the fast generalized Fourier transform FGFT to identify the space-wavenumber evolution of nonstationary spatial signals at each temporal frequency. The nonredundant nature of FGFT renders a big computational advantage to this interpolation method. A least-squares fitting scheme is...
